11-Jul  St. Petersburg

Enjoy this morning in the magnificent Hermitage Museum. Afterwards, we will take a hydrofoil pass down the river Neva and the Gulf of Finland coast to Peterhoff (Petrodvorets) to explore Peter the Great Palace and parks with its impressive fountains, sculptures and sea channels. (B)

 

12-Jul  St. Petersburg

Today we will tour Catherine’s Palace and its famous Amber room, located in the town of Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin). This magnificent rococo-style Palace served as the summer residence of the Russian tsars. Its impressive blue, white and gold facade is over 300-meters long. Originally built by Rastrelli (who also designed St Petersburg's Winter Palace). (B)

13-Jul  St. Petersburg

We will finish our St.Petersburg visit with city overview tour which will include the Peter and Paul Fortress the burial place of all the Russian Emperors and Empresses from Peter the Great to Alexander III.; and visit of The Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood. This marvelous Russian-style church was built on the spot where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated in March 1881. The church was closed for services in the 1930s, when the Bolsheviks went on an offensive against religion and destroyed churches all over the country. It remained closed and remained under restoration for over 30 years and was finally re-opened in 1997 in all its dazzling former glory.Transfer to Volga Dream Embarkation.(B;D)

 

14-Jul  Mandrogi  

First stop on our cruise itinerary is the craftsmen village of Mandrogi. Visit the crafts village and Museum of the Russian vodka. (B;L;D)

 

15-Jul  Kizhi

Today we will visit Kizhi island on Lake Onega with a beautiful ensemble of wooden churches, chapels and houses. It is one of the most interesting destinations during our cruise and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our walking tour features an open air museum of wooden architecture. View the 22-domed Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior built without a single nail. (B;L;D)

 

17-Jul  Yaroslavl

Yaroslavl, founded in the 11th century by Prince Yaroslav the Wise. It is renowned for its numerous 17th-century churches. The Historical Centre of the City of Yaroslavl is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. We will start with the city tour and explore the Spassky Monastery complex and church of Elijah the Prohet.The visit to the local food market will end our tour. (B;L;D)

18-Jul  Plyos

The town of Plyos was founded in the 12th century as a military fortress. The first mentioning of Plyos dates to 1141. In 1888-90 the renowned Russian landscape artist Isaac Levitan works at Plyos. His "Plyos period" work attracts attention to the town and from that period on Plyos becomes a favorite dacha place (Vacation home) for many Moscovites. A walking tour will introduce us to the town of Plyos.  (B;L;D)

19-Jul  Uglich

Our tour will explore Cathedral of the Transfiguration and walk trough the Church of Prince Dimitri. (B;L;D)

20-Jul  Moscow

Volga Dream disembarkation. Transfer to the Deluxe hotel in the center of the city. Moscow is the capital and the largest city of Russia.  We will start our introduction to Moscow with Red Square and the St. Basil's Cathedral.  (B)

21-Jul  Moscow

Today we will Tour the Kremlin and its cathedrals and the famous Armory collection of Imperial Era regalia. In the Diamond Fund, see the diamond-encrusted coronation crown of Catherine the Great and the 190-carat Orlov diamond. (B)

22-Jul  Moscow  Transfer to the airport. Departure (B)
